Jet Substructure in Heavy-Ion Collisions

Supervisor: Wilke van der Schee

  • Developing a model to study how the quark–gluon plasma modifies jet substructure, using Trajectum's hydrodynamic evolution and vacuum parton showers embedded in the medium.
  • The project aims to add a simple energy-loss prescription to the parton shower and investigate its effects on the Soft Drop groomed splitting function and jet shapes.

Neutrino Detector Simulation and Energy Spectrum Analysis

Supervisor: Prof. Fengpeng An

  • Modelled plastic-scintillator cubes and photomultiplier-tube response.
  • Reconstructed energy spectra with Bayesian and SVD unfolding and compared detector efficiencies.
